With just a bit of yarn, stuffing, and creativity, you can whip up your own squishy version of everyone\u2019s favorite sea creature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project is a fast and beginner-friendly, even if you\u2019re new to amigurumi, this plushie is a perfect weekend project. It&#8217;s also a perfect gift idea \u2013 whether it\u2019s for a baby shower, birthday, or just because, this plushie never fails to delight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I originally created this Baby Shark pattern years ago in a mini version, as shared in this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gratiaproject.com\/mini-shark-crochet-tutorial.htm\">Mini Shark Crochet Tutorial<\/a> post. This time, I used chunky plush yarn to make a larger plushie using the exact same pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">BABY SHARK PLUSHIE CROCHET PATTERN<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Pattern by: Effi GratiaProject.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MATERIALS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>* Some links may be affiliate links which will allow me to make a commission for purchases made through the following link.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YDv4cT\">Any plush yarn<\/a> (chunky chenille, velvet, etc) &#8211; In my video tutorial, I used chunky chenille yarn diameter 8mm, in purple and white color.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4lCaymV\">8mm\u00a0crochet hook<\/a><br><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4lIvWqK\">Stitch markers<\/a><br>Jumbo tapestry needle<br>Safety eyes (size 1.5cm), or black yarn to embroider the eyes and mouth<br>Polyfill<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ABBREVIATIONS (US Crochet Terms)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>st(s): stitch(es)<br>sl st: slip stitch<br>ch: chain<br>sc: single crochet<br>hdc: half-double crochet<br>dc: double crochet<br>inc: increase (2 single crochet in 1 space)<br>dec: invisible decrease. To do Invisible Decrease, insert hook through front loop of the first stitch, then through the front loop of the next stitch (3 loops on hook). Yarn over and draw through the first two loops on the hook (2 loops on hook now). Yarn over and draw through both loops on the hook. Or use black yarn to embroider the eyes and mouth.<\/strong><br><strong>Insert polyfill.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">R12: (Sc, dec) x6 [total 12 sts]<br>R13: Dec x6 [total 6 sts]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cut the yarn and fasten off to close the round.<br>Hide the yarn tail using tapestry needle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DORSAL FIN PATTERN<\/strong><br>Insert your hook on top of the head. Using purple yarn, chain 3, then slip stitch in the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0loop from hook. Dc in the same space of chain 3. Then (hdc and sc) in the next stitch. Secure and cut the yarn. Use tapestry needle to hide the yarn tail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PECTORAL FIN PATTERN (LEFT &amp; RIGHT)<\/strong><br>Insert your hook on the side of the body between the white and green yarn. Using green yarn, chain 3, then hdc in the same stitch. Next (hdc and sc) in the next stitch. Secure and cut the\u00a0yarn. Use tapestry needle to hide the yarn tail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TAIL PATTERN<\/strong><br>Insert your hook on the back of the body between the white and green yarn. Using green yarn, chain 3, then slip stitch in the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0loop from hook. Hdc in the same space of chain 3. Sc* in the next stitch. Chain 2, slip stitch in the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0loop from hook. (Hdc and sc) in the same space with sc*. Secure and cut the yarn.
