This cable leg warmer is knitted pretty fast. I used worsted weight yarn and size US 8 \/ 5 mm knitting needles. For the front cable pattern, I used woven ties cable pattern from here<\/a>. And for the back I only use simple robe cable pattern (with c8f for every 12 rows).<\/p>\n

Materials:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yarn: Any worsted weight 100% wool or wool blended yarn, about than 300 yards
\nNeedles size US 6 \/ 4mm circular needles or DPN (use for ribbing)
\nNeedles size US 8 \/ 5mm circular needles or DPN (use for cable pattern\/the body of leg warmers)
\nNeedles size US 10 \/ 6mm circular needles or DPN (use for cast on)
\nCable needle<\/p>\n

Abbreviations:<\/strong><\/p>\n

k: knit
\np: purl
\nc8b: cable 8 back. Slip next 4 stitches onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 4 stitches from left-hand needle,then knit stitches from cable needle.
\nc8f – Cable 8 Front. Slip next 4 stitches onto cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next 4 stitches from left-hand needle, then knit stitches from cable needle.<\/p>\n

Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Using needles size US 10\/6mm, cast on 48, join in the round. Be careful to not twist the yarn.
\nChange to needles size US 6\/4mm, do the ribbing k2 p2 for 20 rows.<\/p>\n

Start cable pattern. Use needles size US 8\/5mm.
\nRow 1: p4, k16, p4, k4, p4, k8, p4, k4
\nRow 2-4: repeat row 1
\nRow 5: p4, c8b, c8b, p4, k4, p4, k8, p4, k4
\nRow 6: p4, k16, p4, k4, p4, k8, p4, k4
\nRow 7-10: repeat row 6
\nRow 11: p4, k4, c8f, k4, p4, k4, p4, k8, p4, k4
\nRow 12: p4, k16, p4, k4, p4, c8f, p4, k4<\/p>\n

Repeat these cable pattern (row 1-12), 4 times.<\/p>\n

Change to needles size US 6\/4mm, do the ribbing k2 p2 for 20 rows.<\/p>\n

Finishing.
\nBind-off very loosely with needles size US 10\/6mm. I used Jeny\u2019s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off.<\/p>\n
