Striped Leg Warmers Knitting Pattern

This is my newest project, super easy striped leg warmers for children. I made this for my 5 years old boy, Kenzo. These striped white and yellow loose leg warmers is fun to make, and also fast because I used worsted weight yarn. I used the leftover Cascade 220 yarn from my previous project, wool diaper soaker.

Yarn: Cascade 220 worsted weight yarn, 100% highland Peruvian wool, color natural white (color A) and golden rod (color B), 1/2 skein each.

Needles: Size 5 and 7, use DPNs or circular needles to knit in the round (I prefer using 2 circular needles)

Note: when changing the yarn color, do not break the yarn.

Instructions:

1. Using color A, cast on 40 using size 7 knitting needles, join in the round. Be careful to not twist the yarn.

2. Change the needles to size 5, k1 p1 (knit ribbing) for 4 rows.

3. Attach yarn color B, do the k1 p1 for 4 rows.

4. Using color A, do the k1 p1 for 4 rows.

5. Change the needles to size 7, and using color B, k all, for 4 rows.

6. Using color A, k all, for 4 rows.

7. Repeat step 5 and 6 three times more, ending with color A.

8. Change the needles to size 5, and using color B, do the k1 p1 for 4 rows.

9. Using color A, do the k1 p1 for 4 rows.

10. Using color B, do the k1 p1 for 4 rows.

11. Bind-off loosely. I used Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off.

 Finishing: Weave in ends.
