Soccer Ball Amigurumi / Football Crochet Pattern
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to crochet a soccer ball using 20 hexagons and 12 pentagons. The written pattern and step-by-step video tutorial below will guide you through the entire process.

Materials
- White and black yarn (any weight)
- A matching crochet hook for your yarn (use a smaller hook than recommended to create tight stitches)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Polyfill
Abbreviations (US Terms)
- MR – Magic Ring
- ch – chain
- st(s) – stitch(es)
- sl st – slip stitch
- dc – double crochet
- tr – treble crochet
- R – round
Notes
- The beginning ch 3 counts as a dc throughout the pattern.
- In the video tutorial, I used size 3 cotton yarn with a 3 mm crochet hook. The finished ball measures approximately 12 cm (4¾ inches) in diameter.

Assembly
Place two pieces together with the wrong sides facing each other.
Thread a tapestry needle with yarn. Starting from the inside of the first piece, bring the needle out through the edge stitch. Then insert the needle from the inside of the second piece and bring it out through the corresponding edge stitch. Continue alternating between the two pieces, sewing one stitch at a time along the edge.
Continue joining all the pentagons and hexagons to form the ball. Before closing the final opening, stuff the ball firmly with Polyfill. Add more stuffing as needed to achieve a nice round shape, then sew the opening closed.
