Crochet Crown Free Pattern
Hi everyone! In today’s tutorial, I’ll show you step-by-step how to crochet a beautiful crown — perfect for kids, parties, or photo props.

Materials:
– Milk cotton yarn, 5-ply
– 4 mm crochet hook
– Stitch markers
– Tapestry needle
Finished Size:
– Height: 2″
– Diameter: 19″ (stretchable to 22″)
Abbreviations (US terms):
R = Round
fsc = foundation single crochet
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
sk = skip stitch/space
sl st = slip stitch
st(s) = stitch(es)
Notes:
Sample size fits a child (~21″ head circumference).
Adjust starting fsc in multiples of 5 to fit.
Try on or measure after Round 1 for best fit.
Place stitch markers every 10 sts for easier counting.
Use stacked sc in place of ch 3 for a neater start to dc rounds.
Pattern
R1: Make a slip knot, ch 2. Insert hook into first ch, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 1 loop (chain made), yo, pull through both loops (first fsc made). Insert hook into chain just made, repeat to make 75 fsc.
Join in the round: make sure the chain is not twisted.
- Bottom edge join: Insert hook into first ch (marked), yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, pull through both loops.
- Top edge join: Insert hook from back into first st, sl st.
(75 sts)
R2: Stacked sc in first space (counts as dc), dc in next 3 spaces, ch 1, sk 1 space, dc in next 4 spaces. *Ch 1, sk 1 space, dc in next 4 spaces; repeat from * around.
Join with sl st from the back into first st.
(60 dc, 15 ch-1 spaces)
R3: Sc in each st around, including ch-1 spaces. Join with sl st from the back into first st.
(75 sc)
R4: Repeat R2.
(60 dc, 15 ch-1 spaces)
R5 (final): *(Sc, hdc, dc) in next space, ch 3, sl st in back loop of first ch, (dc, hdc, sc) in next space, sk 1 space, sl st in ch-1 space from previous round; sk 1 space; repeat from * around.
Sl st into last ch-1 space. Fasten off.
Use tapestry needle to make invisible join. Weave in ends.
