Today I’m going to share with you my video tutorial about Heart Basket Easy Crochet Tutorial. In this video tutorial, I’m using t-shirt yarn and Boye Crochet hook size 6.5 mm.

Note:
– Pattern for the base is working continuously in the round.
– Use stitch marker to mark first stitch in a round.
– Pattern for the side of basket is using knit stitch single crochet, it’s almost the same with single crochet, but we put the hook between the leg of each stitch (please watch the video for detail instruction).

MATERIAL

T-shirt Yarn around 250 meters (can be vary based on your t-shirt yarn thickness and crochet hook size)
Crochet hook size 6.5mm: Boye Crochet Hook Set
Stitch marker: Clover Needlecraft Split Ring Markers

ABBREVIATIONS (US Crochet Terms)

st(s): stitch(es)
sl st: slip stitch
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
sc3tog: single crochet 3 stitches together, or decrease 3 stitches into 1 stitch.

How to do sc3tog

Insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (2 loops on the hook). Insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook). Insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (4 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops on the hook.

HEART BASKET CROCHET PATTERN 

Start with chain 14.

Round 1: Sc in the 2^nd loop from hook, sc in next 4 sts, sc3tog for the next 3 sts, sc in next 4 sts, 3 sc in the last stitch (continue crocheting in the other side, while hiding the yarn tail). Sc in next 5 sts, 3 sc in next stitch, sc in next 5 sts. 2 sc in the last stitch. Do not slip stitch, continue to Round 2.

Round 2: 2 sc in next stitch. Place a stitch marker in every first stitch of each round. Sc in next 3 sts, sc3tog in the next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts. Then 2 sc in next 3 sts. Sc in next 6 sts, 3 sc in next stitch, sc in next 6 sts. Then 2 sc in the last 2 sts before stitch marker.

Round 3: (2 sc, sc) in next 2 sts. Move the stitch marker to the first stitch of this round. Sc in next 2 sts, sc3tog in next 3 sts, sc in next 2 sts. Then (2 sc, sc) repeat 3x in the next 6 sts. Sc in next 7 sts, 3 sc in next stitch, sc in next 7 sts. Then (2 sc, sc) repeat 2x in the last 4 sts before stitch marker.

Now the BASE of the basket done.

Insert the hook from behind, then slip stitch.

Turn your work.

Start making the SIDE of the basket.

Ch 1, then slip stitch in each stitch around. Join with slip stitch.

Round 1: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch around. Do not slip stitch to join the round.

Round 2: Insert the hook in the V position instead of in the regular place, then make sc. Continue sc around in every V position. Do not slip stitch to join the round.

Round 3: Repeat pattern in Round 2. 

For finishing, slip stitch in each stitch around. 

Cut the yarn. Use invisible join for smooth result.
